In a recent blog post, I mentioned that I saw a nutritional therapist in an attempt to balance hormones, and she recommended using Maca powder.
In addition suggested eating more cruciferous vegetables, particularly broccoli, Brussels sprouts, spinach, and cauliflower.
“Cruciferous vegetables contain a constituent in called Indole-3-Carbinol (I3C) that is beneficial to estrogen metabolism. When that I3C combines with stomach acid it creates another compound which overlaps with estrogen metabolism so that there is a healthy ratio of compounds that support estrogen metabolism” according to Womenswellnessdoc.com.
Below is a table below listing the benefits of these specific cruciferous vegetables.
Not only do they balance hormones, but there are other benefits as well.
Gardeningknowhow.com has a full list of all the cruciferous vegetables, there are many.
I like to eat mine steamed in the Instant Pot which takes very little time and clean up.
Check out this Instant Pot Cheat Sheet to see details on cooking times.
