Anti Inflammatory Foods, Even On Vacation!

Anti Inflammatory Foods, Even On Vacation!

What kinds of foods do you pack for vacation? We’ve done many one day driving trips and one thing that always goes with me, are the healthy anti inflammatory foods. Check out the video below:

You Want To Feel Your Best!

Anti Inflammatory Foods should be part of a healthy diet because they decrease inflammation in the body and can provide natural pain relief. When you are traveling, you want to feel your best!

Stop Every Hour!

For example, when we go to Oregon or Spokane, it’s about a 4-5 hour trip. It’s a little longer as we stop every hour at a rest stop to stretch. To see why making frequent stops are important.

Eating Every Couple Hours Is Good For Blood Sugar!

By the time we leave for our trip, I’ve eaten oatmeal. I’m also usually eating while traveling, every couple of hours. Mark usually drives and here’s a sample of what I pack.

  • Chocolate Chia Pudding
  • Salad with Dressing
  • Banana and Almond Butter mixed
  • Apple
  • Plenty of Water

Check Out Menus Online!

Many times, I will bring dinner too, but most times we grab something from Subway or we go to a restaurant that has healthy food. We usually check out the menus online first. I also pack snacks and a few meals for the next day.

On this last trip, we went to a restaurant called “Bridgewater Bistro“. They had a salad that was right up my alley. It sounded delicious so I HAD to try it. Check it out!

Mayan Gluten Free Vegan Salad

Roasted beets and yams, quinoa, avocado, corn, black beans and cherry tomatoes; served with creamy honey-lime vinaigrette (vegan option – sweet and sour vinaigrette)

I loved that it had anti inflammatory foods such as Quinoa, avocado, black beans and yams. It was delicious! I carry a small REI cooler in the front seat. I eat every couple of hours to keep my blood sugar level.

Of course, if you want to stay in when traveling, check out my post “How To Spend Less On Vacation: Bring Your Own Food” .

The bowls that we use at home and on trips are Pyrex with lids! We use them every single day. Here are some with red lids (which I actually like better than blue)!
