What can I say? I’m obsessed with PEANUT BUTTER, it’s my favorite food of all time. For breakfast it’s in my oatmeal and can also be found in my afternoon pre-workout wrap. I just can’t get enough of the stuff.
When I was a teenager, my little brother used to hide the peanut butter. One time, after searching for quite a while, I found it behind the couch. Is that a kind way to treat your sister? Geez, what’s a girl gotta do to get some peanut butter?
I’ve been known to eat peanut butter, like ice cream, with a spoon. Sad, but true. I used to keep a jar at work so every afternoon I could get my fix. It was embarrassing when a co-worker would walk in and catch me with the jar in one hand and a spoon in my mouth. Do you think that stopped me? OF COURSE NOT!
My peanut butter of choice is the healthy Organic peanut butter from Costco, it’s wonderful. Luckily, it’s not soft and creamy so I can’t just it and eat it from a jar, like I can with those popular unhealthy, yummy, creamy brands out there! Those other brands contain sugar and sugar is a NO-NO. I have to admit though, if someone handed me a jar of the creamy stuff and a spoon, I might sneak a bite or two.
IMHO Peanut Butter goes with EVERYTHING! You name it, I’ll add peanut butter to it. I recently added it to Tofu and Brussels Sprouts, DELICIOUS! When I venture out for Frozen Yogurt, can you guess what flavor I order?
When I was young, I used to drink chocolate peanut butter shakes, and eat chocolate peanut butter cups. Have you ever tried peanut butter and bananas? Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Elvis loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches, which of course makes me love it even more. Thank you, thank you very much. Try to say that with peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth.
Unfortunately, I cannot consume peanut butter as much as I’d like to because it packs on the pounds. Believe me, if it didn’t, I’d be supporting a jar a day habit.
But seriously folks, peanut butter is a GREAT pre-workout snack and provides PLENTY of staying power. It has many benefits. It has a fairly high amount of dietary fiber and contains much higher quantities of antioxidants than apples or carrots. So, eating peanut butter is healthy if consumed in small quantities.
Do you love peanut butter as much as I do? If not, what food are you obsessed with? Drop a line, I’d love to hear from you.
