Looking For A New Self Defense Class? How About Krav Maga?

We can all learn things from books, no matter what type of book it is, right?

For instance, I read “Fifty Shades of Grey” which lead me to book 2 “Fifty Shades Darker“. In my post “50 Shades Darker: Solution-Focused Therapy” I mentioned that the therapy Christian Grey was receiving, Solution Focused Therapy, was actually a REAL type of therapy!

In searching for a book that was similar to Fifty Shades of Grey, a friend recommended I read the Crossfire series. In the First Book “Bared To You”  Once again I learned something, a self-defense type of program called “Krav Maga”. Again, I looked into it and guess what? It’s a real thing!

What is Krav Maga?

Ultimate-KravMaga.com says that “Krav-Maga is a survival system dealing with personal safety issues in the context of defending against both armed and unarmed attackers. It is considered to be a modern, highly refined, street fighting system, designed to be utilized against muggings, street attacks, and sexual assaults.

The core principals are as follows:

  • Speed and technique are important than strength.
  • Acquire skills for real-life-situations.
  • Repetition is crucial.
  • Simplicity.
  • Krav Maga adjusts to your abilities.
