Are There Natural Options For Migraines and Sinus Headaches?

Do you suffer from the occasional migraine or sinus headaches? I sure do!

In “10 Things To Request In Hotels If You Suffer From Allergies!” I mentioned that toxic cleaners and perfume, give me allergies and headaches. They can be quite debilitating.

I dislike taking over the counter medications and most of the time just suffer through. Sometimes I do give in and take ibuprofen.

According to migraine.com in the U.S., more than 37 million people suffer from migraines and happen most often to 18 percents of women vs 6 percent of men.

What Is A Migraine?
A migraine is an intense headache and has accompanying symptoms which can include Nausea, pain behind an eye or ear, and sensitivity to light, and vomiting.

When I suffer from migraines, I need to avoid all light and sound. It’s most times, impossible to function.

Are There Natural Medications For Migraines?
A few clinical trials suggest that Butterbur may decrease the frequency, duration and intensity of migraines.

What Is A Sinus Headache?
Some symptoms include pressure around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead. Pain may worsen when bending down.

Bromelain is a natural enzyme that breaks down protein. It’s found primarily in pineapples, although it’s also sold as a supplement in health food stores and marketed as a digestive aid.  Reducing the inflammation and accumulation of mucus is helpful for relieving sinus headaches and bromelain can do both.
