As I mentioned in my previous post “eBooks, The Best invention Yet“, I’m suffering from “Text Neck” and it’s all my fault. According to Florida chiropractor Dean L. Fishman, D.C., who coined the phrase and founded a corresponding research institute, “Text Neck is an overuse syndrome or a repetitive stress injury, where you have your head hung forward and down looking at your mobile device for extended periods of time“.
Like many people, I’ve spent countless hours using my Apple iPod touch and Samsung Galaxy Tab! Besides checking my email, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts, I also play Words with Friends and read quite a few Ebooks LINK BACK TO EBOOK POST. Not only am I connected at home, I’m connected when I’m away from home.
YES, I’m connected to the rest of the world, but my poor neck is in PAIN. I thought my normal exercise routine might help, but NO GO! This has become quite annoying.
I ran across some exercises for relieving “Text Neck”. Now maybe my neck will improve and I won’t have to force myself through digital detox. I’m going to try it.
Watch as Mark attempts to demonstrate “TEXT NECK” relief exercises in the video below.
