Foods with refined sugar can impact your well-being!I learned a long time ago that foods with Refined SUGAR is nothing but POISON!! A diet of low-fiber, refined white foods, alcohol, and candy spikes blood sugar and can immediately impact your brain and well-being. There is NOTHING good about foods with Refined SUGAR.
Studies have revealed that refined sugar can create depression, produce weight gain, zap energy and deplete B Vitamins and has been known to increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Is eating sugar really WORTH PUTTING YOUR HEALTH AT RISK? Not to me! I used to consume foods with refined sugar, but got so tired of feeling TERRIBLE day after day.
Many years ago, I was a refined sugar-addict! I actually used to eat a pound of M&Ms a day! Can you imagine that? When I wasn’t eating those, I ate Recess Peanut butter cups (they were my favorite) and Snickers Bars. I remember one time at a friends house eating those chocolate covered mints, I think they were called Peppermint Patties. While I was talking, I was unwrapping them one by one and making a ball from the foil. Pretty soon the ball was huge and I realized, I just consumed a ton of candy. I also discovered Mint Truffles in the candy isle at Safeway. Oh, they were delicious! I used to eat a lot of cheesecake as well. I didn’t even care what flavor it was, I ATE IT! I used to eat a ton of pizza and ice cream too!
You know how eating foods with refined sugar made me feel? TERRIBLE! I had headaches, no energy, and I was cranky, mad, and depressed. One day I started talking with a friend about her Mother who had just passed away from Breast Cancer. My friend just happened to mention that her mother used to consume mounds of foods with refined sugar, mainly candy! She wasn’t sure if that contributed to her breast cancer, but after she mentioned both of those things, something hit me and at that point I made a decision. I went COLD-TURKEY and QUIT SUGAR. It’s been about 12 years now and I feel GREAT and always have LOTS of energy. I sleep well, exercise regularly, and I’m generally a happy person.
Don’t be fooled by the foods with refined sugar, wrapped inside pretty little packages disguised as Cookies and Candy Bars. These treats might taste rich, creamy and delectable, but when I remember the after-effects, IT’S NOT PRETTY! Why would I want to spend my LIFE feeling lousy and tired all the time? Life is too short and I want to enjoy every minute of it and YOU SHOULD TOO!
Many times in the workplace, (I work from home now), I was SURROUNDED by candy, doughnuts, cake, pop, and pastries on a day-to-day basis. Because I gave up foods with refined SUGAR long ago, it wasn’t an issue as far as temptation was concerned. What bothered me was witnessing a number of co-workers (some of them diabetic) consuming a good deal of foods with refined sugar on a daily basis. I will never understand that, it just made no sense.
Here are a couple of quick tips for excluding foods with refined sugar from your diet:
For what we pay in health care costs, it amazes me that people consciously consume foods with Refined SUGAR, knowing that it’s TERRIBLE for them! When is it going to stop? Why would anyone deliberately destroy their health? I wish I knew. Who wants to pay the ultimate price in the form of bad health and disease later in life? NOT ME!
PLEASE give yourself a chance to live a LONG and HEALTHY life and STOP CONSUMING foods with refined SUGAR! There is plenty of diet and wellness research available TO EVERYONE all over the Internet. Read up on this subject and you will be amazed! Maybe you can talk to your doctor! QUIT MAKING EXCUSES and STOP the CRAZINESS! Your life could depend on it! Great job! I believe and agree with your article. My problem is home made baked goods. I crave them more often than I want. That’s been my challenge.
Hi Lisa, what kinds of things do you bake? Might there be a healthy version of the same thing? Maybe you can substitute some items for healthier ones.
